About Lee Taylor Works

Welcome to Lee Taylor Works, where I share my passion for storytelling, screenwriting, and self-examination. As an author, teacher, music enthusiast, and dad joke expert, I believe that stories have the power to transform lives. That's why I've dedicated my life to crafting compelling narratives that inspire, entertain, and enlighten readers.

Twenty-five years of teaching in public high school have given me interpersonal perspectives on discipline and patience, persistence and excellence. My life stories are about successful students who contribute as adults. I exhibit these fulfilling experiences in my original way through each of my works.

I studied architecture and completed an education degree. I love design theory and creative expression. I am a father to two amazing sons and a dedicated husband. In 2007, I was Master Teacher of the Year at teaching video production and design classes.

In 2002, I wrote my first novel called The Prof. I wanted to explore the relationship between a university professor and his daughter from the perspective of a self-absorbed college scientist. I investigated his relationship with his students and the complex distance this created with his family.

​

In 2015, I began writing again. I watched a news story on Martin Shkreli and wrote Retaliation. I completed another novel, The Lighthouse, about an engineer entangled in a small-town mafia scandal. I began writing a series called The Dark Circle, which I converted into a screenplay. I have an outline for two follow-up series called Dark Cybernetics and Dark Solace.

Most recently, I have written several additional screenplays. Sundown- “On the cusp of creating his epic singer-songwriter hit, Sundown, imperfect lyricist Gordon Lightfoot struggles to maintain a relationship with music harlot Cathy Smith and fight off the fretful consequences rockstars face.”
